Lead Generating websites are designed to build a database of potential customers who are interested in what you do, what you know, and what you sell.  The idea is to build a relationship with them by regularly sharing useful information so that, when they are ready to buy, they think of you first.

If people visit your website, look around and leave, you have no idea who they are, and you have no way of communicating with them in the future.  A waste of all the effort in getting them to visit you in the first place.  Besides, what makes your newsletter so attractive?  How many newsletters do you read? For example "How to avoid the ten biggest mistakes made on corporate websites."  How many does your website have?  To download the free report, you need to register with your email. A fair exchange.

 

Then what?

 

You deliver on your promise but giving them a stunning report which answers their question, and more. It demonstrates that you are an expert and really know your subject.  Of course, you have an automatic system in place to reply to them and to thank them for their interest. Then, days or weeks later, you can follow up with part two. More useful information on a subject that you know is relevant to them.  Then do the same again a week or so after that. You are sharing your knowledge, and demonstrating that you are interested in helping them.

 

But I'm too busy to spend my time sending out emails

 

So am I! That why I leverage my time and automate the process. I set up my auto responders just once, and they are sent out sequentially to each new person who registers. Week by week they learn something new - and find out about things you provide that they maybe didn't know about.
